I have been practicing Traditional Five Element Acupuncture in Southwell since 1995. Traditional Five Element Acupuncture treats the whole person in Body, Mind and Spirit. I love to work with patients holistically as many people have conditions and concerns that intertwine and the whole picture is vital. Acupuncture treatment can help with ongoing conditions as well as a preventative form of healthcare.
I treat patients with a wide variety of conditions with ages spanning from pre-conception to old age. Acupuncture can be an effective stand-alone treatment or to compliment western medicine.
My nursing background makes me aware of both forms of medicine, knowing how both have their strengths and the positives of helping patients be well.
My career in healthcare started when I qualified as an Enrolled Nurse (General). For 10 years I worked both in the NHS and Private sector hospitals and in homecare in Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire for ten years.
After injuring my back whilst nursing I discovered Traditional Five Element Acupuncture. The successful treatment for the back injury along with PMS proved to me the power of acupuncture. From this personal experience I embarked on a career as a Traditional Five Element Acupuncturist. Training for three years at the College of Traditional Acupuncture UK in Warwickshire where I gained my Licentiate in Acupuncture (Lic Ac) in 1995 and keep learning with continuous professional development to enhance my practice.
