Reflexology / Reiki / Hopi Ear
WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is a natural non-invasive form of healing, which treats the whole person rather than just the symptoms and is reported to be good for maintaining health.
It is a calming, balancing treatment that will help tackle the stresses and strains of modern day living.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Reflexology is based on the idea that the feet are ‘mini maps’ of the body.
The theory is that energy flows through our body via channels or pathways. This vital energy can become blocked or congested due to illness, stress or tensions of every day life, and as a consequence the body may not function effectively.
Within the treatment, the therapist works on the soles of your feet on reflex points that correspond to organs, glands and systems of your body in a precise and systemic way to rebalance the body by strengthening immunity, flushing toxins out of the body, improving circulation and improving you body’s own healing process.
Once the energy is released a tremendous feeling of inner peace can be experienced and tension is relieved, bringing about a blissful state of relaxation.
Some of the conditions that have been helped with reflexology are:
Deep relaxation for stress and anxiety
Muscular and joint pain
Blood sugar disorders
Easing of pregnancy discomfort
Stress is one of the main reasons for slowing the body’s natural system down and creating malfunction.
Reflexology treatments, along with a healthy diet and lifestyle help to manage stress levels and maintain good health.
VERTICAL REFLEXOLOGY THERAPY (VRT)
Vertical Reflexology Therapy (VRT) can be combined alongside classical reflexology where the feet are treated in a standing or weight bearing, seated position.
Reflexology and VRT are a powerful combination when working on sports injuries, muscle and skeletal problems, back pain and many other conditions.
How many treatments?
This varies from person to person, often some people will feel the effects of reflexology after just one session, but a series of sessions may be needed to make significant changes to your condition.
A full consultation is carried out on your first appointment to ensure that reflexology is suitable and if you are considering reflexology while under medical supervision, written permission may be needed from your Doctor.
How will I feel after a treatment?
Everyone reacts in different ways and there is no right or wrong way to feel.
Many people report feeling very relaxed, uplifted and have a sense of peace and calm within. Feeling able to cope with life and every day stresses.
For a short time, some people may feel tired or lethargic, can feel irritable, have heightened emotion and may have frequent visits to the toilet, all of which can be part of the healing process. These reactions are only temporary and should clear within 24-48 hours, and usually occur less and less with the more treatments that you have and as the body is healing.

It can help them rest, relax and re-charge , which , in turn , will calm the mind and body helping the individual to function better.
We have a combination of holistic treatments that are specific to younger people and teens.
Combined Reflexology and Reiki
Although reflexology and reiki therapies are practiced in a completely different way, they are both energising therapies that improve health and wellbeing and help to reduce stress levels and aid relaxation.
When these two treatments are combined in one session it can be extremely beneficial, as the body’s pathways have already been opened with the Reflexology, thus allowing the effectiveness of the Reiki to be experienced more quickly and deeply.
ALL of our Reflexology/Reiki/Hopi Ear Candling and Indian Head Massage treatments are carried out in a very relaxing room with candles, mood lighting and aromatherapy oils and smells.
These treatments are the ultimate of relaxation that takes you miles away from the stresses and strains of every day life.
They really do have to be experienced to be fully appreciated.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the person by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of their body and restore physical and emotional wellbeing.
REIKI is literally the Japanese word that means ‘universal life energy’.
This energy can be referred to as ‘Chi” which flows through the body’s energy channels or meridians, (a set of pathways in the body along which vital energy is said to flow).
This intelligent energy promotes healing by finding its way to the area it is needed.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you.
Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feeling of peace, security and wellbeing.
A Reiki treatment may:
Bring a peaceful, deep relaxation
Dissolve energy blockages and tensions
Help to relieve pain
Stimulate the body’s immune system
Detoxify the Body
A Reiki treatment on its own is enough and is extremely powerful, however combined with a Reflexology treatment is the GOLD star of ultimate relaxation and balance leaving you feeling like you are walking on air.
HOPI EAR CANDLING
Hopi Ear Candling is a deeply relaxing, soothing and calming treatment that can benefit many conditions associated with the ear, nose and throat areas.
What is Hopi Ear Candling?
Also known as Thermo Auricular Therapy, Hopi ear candling is a relaxing and soothing treatment, which can be beneficial for many conditions and problems associated with the ears, nose and throat.
Hopi ear candling has been used for thousands of years after it was brought to the West by Native Americans.
The word Hopi translates to ‘PEACEFUL PEOPLE’.
The candles are made from natural ingredients that include Beeswax, St Johns wart, sage & chamomile.
How does Hopi Ear Candling work?
Hopi ear candling is a non-invasive painless treatment.
A light suction action is created when the candle is burning, this is known as the ‘chimney effect’, the movement of the flame creates a vibration of air in the candle that generates a massage like effect on the ear drum.
The candle generates a pleasant crackling sound and a warm comfortable feeling while it draws out impurities from the ear.
The length of time an ear candle burns represents the possible extent of any problem you may have.
After both ears have been treated a gentle pressure point massage is carried out over the face and scalp to help clear the sinuses further,
Hopi Ear Candling can bring gentle relief from:
Excess ear wax
Reflexology and Hopi Ear combined
Combining these two treatments has a deeper, more stimulating effect on the lymphatic system, helping the body to naturally overcome persistent ear, nose and throat conditions.
This is especially helpful as a natural alternative or when traditional approaches have failed.
Indian Head Massage
What is Indian Head Massage?
Indian head massage, or Champissage as it is known in India, is based on the traditional system of medicine know as Ayerveda which has been practiced in India for more than 3000 years.
Primarily Indian women used this therapy to maintain good health and promote strong, shiny hair.
This massage is extremely relaxing, helping to reduce stress and tension in the upper parts of the body.
Those that suffer from stress often experience the build up of tension in the head, shoulders and neck area and this treatment really helps to diminish this.
It can be performed with or without the use of oils on the scalp.
This treatment is fantastic on its own, but a Scalp massage combined with Reflexology is incredible! The ultimate, ultimate relaxation therapy, leaving you tranquil, calm and totally relaxed.
