Founded in 2008, doTERRA’s mission from the beginning was to share therapeutic-grade essential oils with the world. Having seen the incredible benefits of using these precious resources, a group of healthcare and business professionals set out to make that mission a reality.
They formed a company and named it doTERRA, a Latin derivative meaning “Gift of the Earth.”
doTERRA produce essential oils so pure that some of them can be taken internally for medicinal use. These essential oils are certified therapeutic grade oils, and undergo rigorous testing both in house and in independent labs.
doTERRA's pursuit of purity and how the oils are sourced, along with the education provided by Southwell Wellbeing Centre, means that you will have the best quality oils and know exactly how to manage your health emotionally and physically.
What are Essential oils?
They are natural aromatic compounds which come from plants and trees, they are the tree and plants natural immune system, and are integrated quickly, safely and effectively into our bodies. The essential oils have various uses, anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, antibiotic, analgesic, and so much more.
We will be hosting educational workshops to teach you about these oils and how to use them in your life.
What Makes doTERRA Different?
When you use a bottle of doTERRA essential oil, you’re using an oil that is pure. There are no contaminants, fillers, or adulterations. The essential oil industry did not have standards to ensure purity, so doTERRA created one. Every batch of doTERRA essential oils goes through a rigorous testing process—well beyond what would be considered “good enough.” After that, each oil is sent to an independent third party for further testing and validation. Pure Essential Oils Pass Tests. If the oil passes the tests, it’s labelled as CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade®. When you see the CPTG® label, you know you’re using the purest essential oils on the market.
Want to see the purity of doTERRA oils for yourself? Every single bottle of doTERRA oil comes with a quality Identity Number (ID). Use the ID number on the bottom of your bottle to view the third-party test results for that batch of oil.
CPTG Quality Testing
The purity of an essential oil is its most important characteristic. An essential oil that isn’t pure means you run the risk of putting germs, heavy metals, or adulterants onto or into your body, which can provoke irritation, adverse effects, or even sickness.
Without an accepted standard for essential oil quality, doTERRA created its own testing process, calling it CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade®. The CPTG process certifies that there are no added fillers, synthetic ingredients, or harmful contaminants in their essential oils that would reduce their efficacy. doTERRA even goes a step further, putting all their products and the packaging through a battery of tests to ensure a long and effective shelf-life. This protocol ensures potency, purity, and consistency batch to batch.
